Pantone, a global colour authority and provider of professional colour language standards and digital solutions for the design community, announced its annual colour of the year. It introduces PANTONE 13- 1023 Peach Fuzz, a velvety peach colour that enriches the mind, body and soul.
At a time of turmoil in many aspects of our lives, our need for nurturing, empathy and compassion is growing stronger, as is our imagination of a more peaceful future. PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz is a warm and cosy hue that emphasises our desire for togetherness with others and the sense of refuge this creates, and presents a fresh approach to a new softness. PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz is a subtle sensual peach shade that gives a sense of tenderness and conveys a message of caring and sharing, community and cooperation.
“PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz inspires recalibration and offers the opportunity for nurturing, evoking an atmosphere of calm and providing a space for us to be, feel, heal and flourish, whether we are spending time with others or taking time to enjoy a moment to ourselves,” says Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director at the Pantone Color Institute. “By drawing comfort from PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz, we find peace from within, which has an impact on our well-being. Both an idea and a feeling, PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz excites our senses with the comforting presence of tactility and enveloped warmth.”
PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz evokes a new modernity, according to the institute. While it focuses on the human experience of enriching and nourishing the mind, body and soul, it is also a calm, sophisticated and contemporary peach with depth, whose soft lightness is understated but impactful, bringing beauty to the digital world. PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz reflects the past but has been reformulated to create a contemporary mood.
The introduction of PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz also marks the 25th anniversary of the Pantone Colour of the Year programme. First introduced by the Pantone Color Institute in 1999 with the Pantone Colour of the Year, PANTONE 15-4020 Cerulean Blue, the Pantone Colour of the Year aims to capture the global zeitgeist. Over the years, the Pantone Colour of the Year programme grew to become a global iconic cultural touchstone when it comes to colour.
“With the Pantone Colour of the Year 2024, we see an increased focus on community and people around the world rethinking how they want to live and evaluating what is important. It is a colour whose warm and welcoming embrace conveys a message of compassion and whose cosy sensibility brings people together and enriches the soul,” adds Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute.
