In a few days, Paris Design Week returns for a new session that promises to be one of renewal. For the first time, this event that animates the streets of Paris joins the theme of Maison&Objet – back from September 9 to 13 – Desirable Development. With more than 350 destinations to be discovered along the different routes, this new edition of Paris Design Week promises to be particularly rich and dynamic.
The design community has shown ingenuity, resilience, and a dynamic ability to continue to produce, invent, and inspire. This session aims to be the stage on which a whole community will come to share, with generosity, its innovations to make tomorrow’s world healthier, more respectful of the environment and of the human factor in everything.
Rising talents and iconic design brands
Rising talents and iconic design brands, young graduates and museum institutions, freshly launched design houses, artisans, and designer-makers with inspired and inspiring hands will all flock to Paris to invent and showcase their vision of a desirable lifestyle. A lifestyle that is in harmony with nature, that leverages technology to bring people together – sometimes virtually – whilst drawing on traditional expertise that is handed down from generation to generation, bearing witness to the passing of time. Desirable Development helps strike that subtle and much longed-for balance that sets us on the path of uninhibited revival. It is purely and simply the very thing you will explore at Paris Design Week from 9th to 18th September.
In collaboration with Catawiki
To further support creation and designers, Paris Design Week is offering an auction of designers’ prototypes from September 8 to 18 in collaboration with Catawiki, the digital auction platform for exceptional objects. Some of the pieces offered in this sale will be exhibited at the Espace Commines. The aim of this initiative is to allow unused and unique objects or pieces of furniture to join the collections of design enthusiasts while generating an income for the designers, directly.
