Did you already prepare your visit to the Furniture Fair in Brussels? Do you already know what booths you want to visit? Have you already drawn up your list? No? In that case, don’t forget to arrange this beforehand by means of the website. From Sunday onwards, the Furniture Fair Brussels opens its doors, until Wednesday 7 November. Four days long, the Furniture Fair in Brussels Expo will be THE most important event in autumn for the European furniture sector.
In our print edition, we already presented what the fair stands for. Here, the Belgian furniture industry and quite a lot of mainly European companies showcase their collections to an international and professional audience. They do this in several halls of which we previously explained the layout in detail.
Cosy and convivial atmosphere
What are to us the three most important reasons to visit the fair in Brussels for at least one day (not considering the high-qualitative offer on display)? If you ask us, first of all you have to come because of a reason that Is more down to earth than you would tend to think: in Brussels you simply find a convivial atmosphere with a lot of free catering, where people meet to do business face to face in cosy surroundings. This was the case in the past and the organisation emphasizes this even more in 2019.
Balthazars
Of course, there is more than just that. We also see the Tuesday evening, when the Balthazars are traditionally awarded. By means of these trophies, the Brussels Furniture Fair wants to put some exhibitors with a remarkable innovation or an original collection in the spotlight. At a festive awards ceremony, the winners receive a certificate and of course also the highly coveted Balthazar: a 12-litre bottle of champagne. At the reception afterwards, exhibitors and visitors can toast the winners.
Informative trend story: ‘Get in touch’
And perhaps the most important reason of them all: at the Furniture Fair you simply find lots of information, not only at the booths themselves. An absolute must are the trend passages between the halls where every year, art director Siegrid Demyttenaere distils a few specific trends. This year, they were given the common title ‘Get in touch’. Especially in times of digitization, people are looking to connect with each other again and seek connection with how our things are made. Good to know is that this year, the presentation of the trends is being completely transformed and shown in a far more airy setting.
Practical information
We conclude by remarking that the Furniture Fair in Brussels Expo opens its doors from Sunday 4 till Wednesday 7 November. Every day, the fair is open from 9 am till 7 pm, except on the final day.
