Glenn De Maeseneer succeeds Lieven Van den Heede as managing director of the Brussels Furniture Fair. After 16 years of service, of which the last 7 years as managing director, the time had come to pass on the torch. Lieven Van den Heede is leaving the company and is looking for a new challenge.
“With his years of experience as a sales and project manager at home and abroad, Glenn has the necessary skills to achieve our goals. In a short amount of time, he has managed to win back the trust of our exhibitors and his vision perfectly matches the path that the Furniture Fair Brussels wants to take,” says Luc Meers, who will also be the new chairman. “The sector itself is fairly new to Glenn, but he has proven in other sectors what he can achieve. In addition, we as the Board of Directors, are of course always ready to provide the necessary support.”
“Our goal? That remains supporting the market in a financially healthy way with an appeal our visitors and exhibitors deserve. The personal relationship with our exhibitors, visitors and suppliers remains extremely important to us. Therefore, our team will be expanded in order to be able to offer the necessary quality of service.”
The new composition of the team:
– Glenn De Maeseneer – managing director
Besides the commercial activities, Glenn will also be in charge of the general management of the company. He takes care of an optimal internal organisation so that the stakeholders can count on a high-quality cooperation.
– Christine De Visscher – operational manager
The new operations manager Christine De Visscher will be your contact for all matters relating to organisation and stand construction. Christine has been working for the Furniture Fair’s biggest partner Brussels Expo during the past 28 years, where she was responsible for the coordination between exhibition organisers and exhibition venue. In recent years, she has been the main contact for the Furniture Fair.
– Thomas Hibert – marketing and communications manager
After a short break, Thomas Hibert is continuing his cooperation with the Brussels Furniture Fair. From now on, he will be in charge of strong marketing and communication campaigns. The furniture sector has gone through many changes in recent years, requiring a new and fresh approach.
The Board of Directors has also undergone some changes with the appointment of Luc Meers as chairman and Marc Veldeman as vice-chairman.
– Luc Meers (Mecam) – Chairman
– Marc Veldeman (Veldeman Bedding) – vice-chairman
– Gratia Vanderschelden (Perfecta) – Treasurer
– Hans Vandendriessche (Medal)
– Dirk Steenbeke (Passe Partout)
Next edition of fair with high occupancy rate
