Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Autumn Edition will hold its 28th edition at the National Exhibition and Convention Center from 15 to 17 August. This leading international exhibition in Asia for home and contract textiles aims to confirm itself as an essential platform for the global industry after the pandemic.

Wendy Wen, Senior General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, about the fair: “We were delighted that both the spring and autumn editions could go ahead in 2021. This allowed us to offer exhibitors and visitors a strong business platform during these challenging times.”

“We realise how difficult it still is with global participation at the show and therefore we continue to offer digital solutions to help international participants keep in touch with their Chinese business partners and to create new opportunities in the growing Chinese market. I am talking about interactive webinars, live streaming product presentations, complemented by our online Business Matching platform. All this will once again be on display at this hybrid trade fair, which presents a variety of events for visitors on site”.

Belgian pavilion

As a meeting place for the entire home textile industry, the autumn edition of 2021 has already taken place and can serve as a gauge for what is to come.

During the autumn edition, 20,106 professional buyers from 41 countries and regions were welcomed. They visited 749 exhibitors from 10 countries and regions during the three days of the fair. It is interesting to note that the Belgian pavilion also celebrated its return and that a selection of high-end and premium products was introduced there once again during its tenth consecutive participation.

Two exhibitors at the re-capitalisation event testify to the importance of their participation. First John Wang, general manager of Suzhou Roufang Textile Technology Co Ltd. Then we let Hohans Cheung, Director of Operations at Morphrow, speak.

“As a local supplier, we have been participating in this exhibition for ten years and this is an important b2b event for us to establish physical contact,” says John Wang. “90% of our customers result from a visit to Intertextile. I think it is still necessary to organise physical fairs because we make fabrics. They are not like finished products, people still need both a personal explanation of them and a tactile experience.”

“Everyone comes to this fair,” adds Hohans Cheung. “This is an ideal venue for meeting mainly potential customers. Intertextile is a very important part for our sales mix, because you get the opportunity to meet all the leads and prospects in one place.”

Product categories

Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles 2022 will once again offer a wide range of product categories in home textiles. These include bedding, bath, kitchen and table linens, upholstery and sofa fabrics, curtains and drapery fabrics, carpets and floor coverings, wall coverings and design and technology. It should be noted that the fair is organised by Messe Frankfurt Hong Kong, in cooperation with CCPIT (Textile Industry Council) and CHTA (China Home Textile Association).
